Pam Mason joined the ESRC in 2017 as strategic lead for International Development. As a result of a particular interest in interdisciplinary research, her career since 2006 has spanned several Research Councils, including EPSRC and AHRC, and most recently working in International Development at the MRC.

The International Development team is responsible for maintaining ESRC’s relationships with key international development agencies, including the Department for International Development, with whom ESRC has a long-standing partnership. The team leads on the ESRC’s engagement with the Global Challenges Research Fund, through which a key aim is to expand the capacity of the UK research base to engage in international partnership working to address major development challenges.

Pam received a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Nottingham in 2005.
