Sarah is Head of the Work, Education and Skills research portfolio team at the ESRC. The team leads the ESRC’s research commissioning, development and management activities for areas including education, skills, labour markets and productivity, business and management, technology and artificial intelligence. We work in collaboration with government departments and agencies, other national and international funders, business, industry and the third sector to take forward the ESRC’s strategic priorities across our research portfolio areas.
Sarah has worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager in the International Development Team at ESRC managing the Conflict, Migration and Gender portfolios. She has worked as Head of Policy in an innovative plastics recycling business, and spent 13 years serving in the British Army working on telecommunications, operational planning, leadership and management. Sarah has a degree in French and Spanish from the University of Leeds, a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of the West of England and a Masters in Battlespace Technology from Cranfield University.
