David’s career has focused on improving public health and welfare among marginalised communities. He has a strong interest in the participation of user communities in research and policy-making. He brings a wide perspective to this issue, having worked in both academia and third-sector organisations, in the UK and abroad.
Currently, David is Impact and Evidence Manager at The Connection at St. Martin’s, a homelessness charity in central London. David is responsible for research and analysis, including the development of peer research projects and monitoring and evaluation systems.
Previously, he has worked for the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to conduct research on maternal health among ethnic minorities in western China, designed a legal programme for people affected by HIV in China for UNDP, and advised UNAIDS on human rights and civil society in China.
David has a master’s in Public Health in Developing Countries from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
