Dr Iwona Bisaga

Iwona Bisaga is a Research Associate on the Modern Energy Cooking Services Programme at Loughborough University, leading research on energy access in displacement settings. Iwona is the winner of the Scopus Early Career Researcher Award 2020 in Environmental Sciences and holds an Honorary Lectureship at University College London (UCL), where she is among the founding members of the Energy & Development Group.

She specialises in the socioeconomics of energy access in low-income contexts and combines her training in sociology, anthropology, development planning and engineering to address energy needs of rural and marginalised populations through user-centric approaches. She has a PhD in Energy (UCL), a MSc in Development Administration and Planning (UCL), and an MA (SocSci) in Sociology and Anthropology (University of Glasgow).
