Daniel Wincott is Blackwell Professor of Law and Society in Cardiff University's School of Law and Politics, where he works in the Wales Governance Centre. He also directs the ESRC's Governance after Brexit Programme which will run into 2021. He is Research Director of UK in a Changing Europe , which is based at King’s College, London. In these roles he directs and co-ordinates over 30 individual ESRC research projects.
He is a Fellow of the Centre on Constitutional Change at the University of Edinburgh, where he has also held an Honorary Professorial Fellowship in the School of Social and Political Sciences. He is a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales and has previously served on the ESRC Research Committee. He was a member of the Management group of the Wales ESRC Doctoral Training Centre and editor of the Journal of Common Market Studies. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Law and Society. Professor Wincott's research interests include: devolution and territorial governance; European integration, especially in the areas of social policy and law; comparative welfare state theory and analysis.
