Professor Eleanor Fisher

Eleanor Fisher is Professor of International Development at the University of Reading. Her main research interests are on livelihood processes, sustainability dynamics and social equity for marginalized people living in fragile environments of the Global South.  At the University of Reading she is co-Head of the International Development Department, School of Agriculture, Policy and Development.

Externally, she is Visiting Professor at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Rural Studies. She currently leads the NORFACE/Belmont Forum project ‘Sustainability Transformations in Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining - Trans-Regional and Multi-Actor Perspectives’.
