ESRC, on behalf of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), is pleased to invite applications for the Development-based approaches to Protracted Displacement call. Funding has been allocated from the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) which is a £1.5 billion fund to support cutting-edge research that addresses the problems faced by developing countries.
In order to deliver on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development it will be paramount to consider the needs of refugees, displaced persons, stateless people and others affected by migration and displacement. This open call for research aims to support interdisciplinary projects which will lead to durable and viable solutions to promote sustainable lives for those in situations of protracted displacement, so that they may be better equipped for whichever durable solution becomes possible (return, local integration, or resettlement).
All proposals will have to make a clear case for how they comply with ODA guidelines.
We expect to receive proposals costed between £1 million and £3 million (100% fEC) for a duration of up to 36 months.
Proposals should be submitted via the Joint Electronic Submission system (Je-S) by the deadline of 16:00 (UK time) on 8 May 2019. Projects should commence by 1 January 2020.
