All research proposals to ESRC must be made electronically through the Joint electronic Submission system (Je-S).

Accessing electronic applications

If you and your research organisation are already registered for Je-S, you can access your electronic applications via the Je-S website

Organisations wishing to register for Je-S should contact the Je-S Helpdesk using the contact details below.

Users wishing to access the Je-S system for the first time should check with their central administration on the status of the organisation's Je-S registration before creating a Je-S account. .

Please also check the information on eligibility for research council funding (external website).

Applicants are strongly advised to consult both the Je-S helptext (accessed via the 'help' link on the Je-S screens) and the specific guidance notes for individual funding opportunities. Applications that do not comply with ESRC-specific requirements cannot be accepted.

Applicants will no longer be required to provide a separate ‘Pathways to Impact’ plan or complete an ‘Impact Summary’ within grant proposals. Individual call guidance now reflects the requirement that details of maximising economic and societal impact need to be added to the Case for Support within research proposals.
