A Professor of Economics at the Adam Smith Business School, Sayantan Ghosal was Dean of Interdisciplinarity and Impact at the College of Social Sciences at the University of Glasgow, 2016-18. He was a Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick from 2004 to 2013 where he was Research Director of the ESRC-funded Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy (CAGE) 2010-2012.
At Glasgow, he co-ordinates the interdisciplinary network Behaviour, Structure and Interventions and is an academic ambassador for the research beacon 'Addressing Inequalities'. He is the Principal Investigator in an ESRC-DFID funded project and a co-investigator on the ESRC-funded Rebuilding Macroeconomics Network. He is an external Research Fellow at CAGE and external Research Associate of the International Network on Expectations Coordination (funded by INET).
His publications include papers in academic journals such as the Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of International Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Economic History and the Frontiers of Neuroscience as well as articles in The Conversation, Vox EU, Ideas for India, The Dialogue, The Times of India, The Guardian, The Scotsman, The Deccan Chronicle. He has supervised 22 PhD students (past and current). He teaches MRES and Honours students in Economics at Glasgow University.
