ESRC is part of the New Opportunities for Research Funding Agency Cooperation in Europe (NORFACE).
NORFACE is in search for a Scientific Programme Coordinator for its ERA-NET Cofund research programme Democratic Governance in a Turbulent Age (Governance). The Scientific Programme Coordinator will promote cohesion and cooperation in the programme by communicating the activities, outcomes and successes of the programme to the academic and non-academic world.
The scientific coordination of the Governance programme is essential for creating added value to the researchers involved in the programme. The Scientific Programme Coordinator will have the exciting task of bringing the various research teams together to work synergistically, but also to communicate activities, results and successes of the projects and programme to the academic and non-academic community and to promote capacity-building and networking in the programme. We highly encourage the Scientific Programme Coordinator to collaborate with a supporting team of experts. For a full task description, please visit the recruitment text.
About the research programme Democratic Governance in a Turbulent Age
The Governance programme is structured around five of the most important challenges to democratic governance and politics: Inequality and redistribution; the evolving politics of threat; the democratisation of information; shifting identities and representation; the changing authority of institutions. The programme puts transnational collaboration at the centre of its activities and three major objectives:
- To develop innovative and excellent research proposals addressing important challenges to democratic governance and politics;
- To produce added value through the development of European cross-national research collaborations exploring the impacts of variations in social, economic, cultural and political contexts on changes in how democracies work;
- To identify promising forms of policy innovation and institutional design and explore the conditions for their application in different jurisdictions.
Candidates are invited to apply no later than 16 September 2020 to the NORFACE Coordination Office at NWO, via firstname.lastname@example.org. Any queries about the application requirement can be addressed to the Coordination Office via the same address.
The Scientific Programme Coordinator is expected to be appointed by November 2020, and start working in January 2021.
