Better Lives was our fifth photographic competition aimed at 14-18 year olds. For 2018-19 the challenge was to take a photograph to show what 'better lives' means to you. What brings quality to our lives in this day and age? Is it better education, health and wellbeing, relationships, more money, or a safer, sustainable environment?
The competition had five diverse categories:
- Better health
- Better education
- Better economy
- Better environment
- Better relationships.
These categories could cover a range of subjects such as family, the economy, work, infrastructure, health, climate change and sustainability.
We encouraged the use of mobile phones and tablets to take images, as well as cameras, making the competition accessible to young people without access to a camera.
Winners and those being exhibited were invited to attend a private viewing and prize-giving awards event on 26 March 2019 at the Espacio Gallery, London.
