The Bigger Picture is our fourth photographic competition aimed at 14-18 year olds. For the academic year 2017-18 the challenge is to take a photograph showing the 'bigger picture' of how the world is changing and how it affects you, your family, friends, community and the nation as a whole.

The competition has five diverse categories: New world order; Age of innovation; Fragile earth; Being me; and Society in chaos. These categories can cover a range of subjects to be covered such as family, economy, politics, culture, health, technology, climate change, migration and sustainability.

We also encourage the use of mobile phones and tablets to take images as well as cameras, making the competition accessible to a larger number of young people.

This year we are inviting social media entries to the competition allowing you to submit additional images via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, by using the hashtag #esrcphoto.

Winners and those being exhibited will be invited to attend a private viewing and prize-giving awards event on 20 March 2018 at the Espacio Gallery, London. Their parents or guardians and teacher or youth leader will also be invited.

The competition is now closed to entries.
